96, of North Kingstown, formerly of Charlestown and Warwick, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Scalabrini Villa. She was the beloved wife of the late Dean W. Hanaford. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Ruth (Francis) Irons.

She graduated from Cranston High School in 1940. Doris was an avid golfer and bowler, playing in various leagues for most of her life. She also thoroughly enjoyed gardening, knitting, needlepoint and traveling.

Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her loving children, Bruce D. Hanaford and his wife Patricia of Jefferson, MA, Linda R. Darcy and her husband Thomas of Cranston; three cherished grandchildren, Julie M. Hermanny and her husband Bryan, David W. Hanaford, Jason R. Hanaford and his wife Laura, and three great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Elden Irons.

Her funeral services are private. Donations may be made to: Scalabrini Villa 860 North Quidnesset Rd.
