Doris A. Schroeder, 78, of Palmer Township, formerly of Easton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 23, 2018 in Old Orchard Health Care Center. Born January 9, 1940 in Pottstown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Edward and Sue Victoria (Kowalski) Gimont. Her husband, Albert J. “Pete” Schroeder, Jr., passed away April 16, 2016.

Doris was proud to be among the first graduating class of 1957 from St. Pius High School in Pottstown. She was employed by Mrs. Smith’s Pie Co., Laneco and Wegman’s, where she retired in 2012. Known for being an avid cook, Doris, “Hot Dot”, often opened her home for friends and family as she had a passion for entertaining and always offered a warm welcome and smile for any and all.

Doris was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church. Surviving are three sons, Michael and his wife Donna, of Daniel Island, SC, Thomas and his fiancée, Laine Mann, of Yardley, and Mark and his wife Amie, of Easton; a daughter, Lisa Reber and her husband Todd, of Pottstown; loving grandchildren, Samantha, Jenna, Alissa, Matthew and Steven; sister-in-law, Shirley Schroeder, of Easton; sister, Gloria Prout, of Pottstown ; brother, Joseph Gimont and his wife Cindy, of West Lawn, PA; longtime friend, Betty Ann Limeberry, of Easton; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Friday in St. Jane’s Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Ave.

, Palmer Township. Call Thursday 5-7pm in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton St., Wilson Borough, and Friday 10-10:45am in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s New Cemetery.
