Doris K. (nee Rodgers) Henry, age 93, long time resident of Havertown, Pa. passed away Friday April 6, 2018. Born April 8, 1924 in Philadelphia, Pa to Edna A. Kirk and Alexander Steven Rodgers.

Doris is a graduate of Overbrook High School. In 1942 she married Edward A. Henry, they have made Havertown their home since 1950. Doris was a Teacher’s Aid with St. George’s Nursery School for many years as well as with the Coopertown Family Support Services.

In her free time she enjoyed knitting afgans, sweaters and Christmas Stockings. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Edward in 1979; Doris is the mother of Lawrence & Steven Henry and Carol Marchesani; grandmother of Gretchen (Michael) Stone, Angela Marchesani, and Justin (Lauren) Henry; and great grandmother of five great-grandsons, Zachary, Noah and Elijah Bissinger; Dominic Marchesani; and Alexander Henry. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service on Monday, April 30, at 11 AM at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 1 W. Ardmore Avenue, Ardmore. Interment immediately following, followed by a reception in the Church House. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to your children, grandchildren, or the charity of your choice, or give directly to someone in need.
