OBITUARY Dornice Gab Schwab April 20, 1929 – September 7, 2018 Dornice Gab Schwab passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018 at the age of 89. Dornice was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Philip J. Schwab, Jr She is survived by her five children; David Schwab (Judy), Steven Schwab (Rita), Cynthia S. Marino (Bernard), Cheryl S. Mayer (Herb), and Patricia S. Stanley (Rick); her grandchildren: Jay, Christine, Eliza, Olivia, Jasmine, Philip, Spencer, Gabrielle, Hannah, Everett, Stephanie, Helena, Ethan, Annaliese: and three great-grandchildren.

She was the daughter of the late Olga Castaing Gab and Sidney G. Gab, Sr She is also survived by her sister Gae G. Ingrivaglia, brother Rae Gab, sister-in-law Johanna Schwab Hurley and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Dornice was a native of New Orleans, LA, a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish, and moved to Metairie in later years.

Prior to Katrina, she was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and the Socialite Club at Prince of Peace. Dornice was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother (Grammy) who enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, and helping others. Dornice set a wonderful example to all by leading with compassion, determination and an abundance of love.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund @ Curealz.org Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:30 AM.

She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
