Dorothea Lee Sheffler Sewickley, PA; Dorothea Lee Sheffler 76, passed away peacefully at home on October 29, 2018, surrounded by her family. Born August 5, 1942, in Sewickley, PA, she was the daughter of the late Richard Ward and Virginia Ward Carroll. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Gary A. Sheffler, and her beloved children: daughter VaNita Sheffler Laurito, son-in-law James P. Laurito, and grandson Tyler J. Laurito; son Gary A. Sheffler, Jr., daughter-in-law Cristina Lynn Sheffler, and grandson Ryan Lee Sheffler and granddaughter Megan Cristina Sheffler; daughter, Leann Lynn Sheffler Schoeppner, son-in-law Robert Scott Schoeppner, and granddaughter Anna Marie Schoeppner.

She is also survived by brothers Richard and wife Bonnie Ward, Charles and wife Judith Ward, Patricia and her late husband Albert Franchek; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Lee was a life-long avid golfer and member of the ladies golf league at Montour Heights Country Club, Shannopin Country Club, The Colony Golf and Country Club, and her home course at Diamond Run Golf Club, where she is survived by many special friends. Lee was also a talented gardner, winning many awards in the Diamond Run development competition.

Lee was also active in bowling leagues and bingo. Lee attended Moon Area High School where she met her husband Gary in the first grade. Later in life, Lee participated on the Moon High School Reunion Committee for her class.

She had a long and successful career in the family business, Sheffler and Co., which began in 1970 and is still in business today. The family wishes to thank Tricia Baurle, her loving aide, for her compassionate care, as well as her oncologist Dr. Scott Long, Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Patrick Demeo, and Dr. Rebecca Kosloff for their caring and professionalism. Friends will be received at R.D. Copeland Funeral Home, 981 Brodhead Rd, Moon Township, PA 15108 on Thursday November 1st from 1pm – 4pm and 7pm – 9pm.

A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on November 2nd, time to be determined. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Lee to the Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute at www.
