Thursday, April 26, 2018, Dorothy Daly Wettemann, 95, longtime resident of North Guilford, passed away peacefully at CT Hospice, surrounded by her loving family. Wife of the late Paul G. Wettemann for 60 years, Dorothy was born on June 18, 1922 in North Branford, daughter of the late Edward and Susan Bradsell Daly. Survived by two daughters and their husbands: Dotty and Lamont Bavin of Madison; Ruth and Alfred Rose of North Branford; as well as three sons and their wives: Robert and Grace… Read More » Wettemann of Stillwater, OK; Kenneth and the late Mary Ellen Wettemann of Port Orange, FL; and Paul and Mary Ellen Wettemann of North Guilford.

Also survived by ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Predeceased by a sister, Florence Querfeld, and a brother, Anthony Daly. Dorothy, affectionately known as “Mema” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cherished her family above all else.

She devoted her life to caring for her loved ones on the family’s farm, where she enjoyed gardening, daily walks, riding her bicycle in earlier years, sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking and entertaining family and friends. Mema will be remembered as a loving person who always put others’ needs before her own. Friends are invited to calling hours on Monday, April 30, from 4 -7 pm at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 1, at 10 am in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford. Burial will in St. George Cemetery, Hubbard Rd, Guilford. Memorial contributions may be made to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd, Branford, CT 06405 or Charlie’s Closet, Sachem Hollow, 301 State St., Suite # 200, Guilford, CT 06437.
