Dorothy “Dottie” Jeanne Coontz, age 93, of Lancaster, died peacefully Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Fairfield Medical Center after suffering a fall the preceding Saturday. She was born in Findlay, Ohio June 13, 1925 to Norbert and Nora (Dindal) Laube. Dorothy was predeceased by son Joseph.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, John “Jack” and son Timothy (Shirley) of Pataskala. She is also survived by grandchildren Brandon Scott (Michelle) Curry, Travis (Jutharat Suathim) Coontz, Tianna Goodwin and Tristin (Yuriy) Yehorov and great-grandchildren Sydney Goodwin and Owen Yehorov. She was a member of St John XXIII Catholic Church in Canal Winchester.

Dorothy was a former secretary at St Mark Church in Lancaster and Christ the King in Columbus. Through the years she had volunteered at the original St Ann’s Hospital, Wagnall’s Memorial Library and for several other charitable organizations. Dorothy was a member of several card clubs in her younger days and enjoyed traveling with her husband, family and friends, gardening, sewing and knitting.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St John XXIII Catholic Church, Canal Winchester on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 11:00 am with visitation starting at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
