Obituary for Thomas J. Kaniaris Thomas J. Kaniaris, age 70, passed away on October 7, 2018. Born in Lorain OH. , on January 18,1946 to the late John and Helen Kaniaris.

He graduated from Admiral King High School in Lorain, OH. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war and was decorated with a National Defense Service Medal. Thomas went on to retire from the Ford Motor company after 40 years there.

Thomas is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Bodash and sisters, Magdeline Clementitios and Catherine Chirakos. He is survived by his son, Nicholas Kaniaris; daughter, Eva Thomas; grandchildren, Lukas, Evan, Angie and Andy; brothers, James (Helen “Joan”), Peter (Debbie), Alex, and John (Dali) Kaniaris; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral service at 10 AM at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 555 North High St. in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, October 13, 2018.

Father Dimetrios Gardikas officiating. A graveside service and interment will take place in Elyria, Ohio, at the Brookdale Cemetery on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 11 AM where the U.S. Army Honor Guard will perform military honors.
