Dorothy’s Obituary Dorothy F. Glodowski, 86 of Stevens Point, died Saturday January 12, 2019, with her daughter by her side at Brookdale Assisted Living. She was under the care of Heartland Hospice. Dorothy was born January 19, 1932, in the town of Sharon.

She was the daughter of the late John & Helen (Zelinski) Weronke. She grew up in Polonia, attended grade school at Sacred Heart of Polonia. She graduated high school from St. Joseph’s Academy on June 1, 1949.

Dorothy and her daughter attended Mid-State Technical College and graduated with an accounting degree in 1973. She was a member of the St. Stanislaus Rosary Society. On October 6, 1952, she married Harold Firkus at Sacred Heart Church in Polonia.

Harold passed away on April 27, 1970. Dorothy later married Eugene Glodowski on November 9, 1974, at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church in Custer. Gene passed away on August 19, 2018.

Dorothy worked at Weber Tackle, Lynn’s Greenhouse, Sentry Insurance, Figis and Hershner’s until her retirement. She loved gardening, jewelry making, making silk floral arrangements and bingo. Most of all she loved going to the casino and shopping.

She also loved making desserts. She never turned down a dessert. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Firkus) Peretz, Stevens Point.

Harold’s sisters, Elsie (John) Glodowski and Sylvia Redding, Stevens Point. Gene’s sisters Carol Firkus, Custer and Madeline Reuther, Milwaukee. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, George (Angie) Weronke and William (Lucille) Weronke. Thanks so much to the amazing Brookdale staff for all their care, kindness and love that they gave to Dorothy while she resided there since 2013. Also thanks to Heartland Hospice for their assistance.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy will be held at 10:30am on Thursday January 17, 2019, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Rev. Steve Brice will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation on Thursday from 9:00am until time of service at the church. Pisarski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
