Obituary for Mrs. Dorothy Jane Smith Dorothy Jane Reed Smith, 89, of Asheboro, died Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro, with Chaplain Tim Pheagin officiating. Born on August 28, 1928, in Chanute KS, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late James and Mary Reed.

She was a homemaker, a member of West Bend United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. She loved bird watching, especially cardinals and growing flowers. In addition to her parents, she proceeded in death by her husband Frederick Carlyle “Carlie” Smith.

Surviving are daughter, Kim Smith-Nagel and husband, Peter of Asheboro; sons, Stephen Smith and wife, Kim of Orlando, FL,Marcas Smith and wife, Lea of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Leslie Shevlin and husband, Tim of Salem, OR, Mallory Richards and husband, Jo of Washington, DC, Devon Smith and Zachary Smith, both of San Antonio, TX; and beloved dog, Mandy. Memorials may be made to Humane Society of Randolph, PO Box 4384, Asheboro, NC 27204 Special thanks to Gloria Painter and Kay Rhem for there caring friendship over the last few years.
