Obituary of Dorothy Jean Burson Garrison Dorothy Jean Burson Garrison, 85, of Pittsboro died Sunday, September 30, 2018. Mrs. Garrison was born in Brownfield, Texas on October 13, 1932 the daughter of Richard “Dick” and Avis Juanita Burson. Dorothy was a graduate of Texas Tech, employed as an accountant and of the Baptist faith.

She was a lady with a wealth of knowledge, who enjoyed painting, cooking, reading, listening to music, dancing and spoiling her children. She is survived by two daughters: Cindy Adams and Janie Smith both of Orlando, FL; two sons: Earlee Garrison of Pittsboro, NC and Robert Garrison of Siler City, NC also Michael B. Smith; sister: Sharon Byrn of Orlando, FL; brother: Tom Durbin of Washington; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel, 230 North Second Ave.
