Dorothy L. Bashline of Knox, age 105, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 30, 2018 at the Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sligo. Born April 16, 1913 in Sligo, she was the daughter of the late Edward L. and Mary M. Kirkwood Myers. She was the oldest and last surviving family member of her generation.

Dorothy married Walter E. Bashline and he preceded her in death. She was the mother of six children, 33 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 28 great great grandchildren. Survivors include four children: John Bashline and his wife, Donna, of Lexington, South Carolina; Margaret Evans of Columbia, South Carolina; Mary White of Centre Hall and Rodney Bashline of Knox and numerous grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by two sons, James Bashline and Paul Bashline; infant grandson, Michael Bashline; great grandson, Scott Bashline, and nine siblings. A private funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2018 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox with Reverend Wade Barto officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt.
