Dorothy L. Neff was born October 28, 1921, in Berthold, North Dakota to John and Golda Slack. From there they moved to Delta, Colorado. Dorothy’s parents died at an early age and she and her two sisters were raised by their grandmother, Mrs. Emma Feigley.

In the late 1920’s they moved to Claypool, Indiana. After marrying, Dorothy lived in Valparaiso, where she raised two children, Dolores (Michael) Joyce and Jim (Karen) Neff. She was blessed with two grandsons, Todd and Ryan (Liz) Neff.

In 2010 Dorothy moved to southern Oregon where she enjoyed living with Dolores and Mike. She passed away at home with them on October 13, 2018, following a brief illness. Dorothy was an avid gardener, quilter, and nature lover.

She also enjoyed teaching Sunday school and leading Bible study groups. She devoted her life to God and her family. Dorothy was a perfect example of a strong Christian woman.

She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Irene Cauffman and Ethel Kinsey. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at the Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe Street, Valparaiso, IN. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM.
