Dorothy was the first born of Osie Lee’s eleven children. Dorothy is proceeded in death by her Father: Reece Ligons, Mother: Osie Lee Callahan, Son: Jason Bush and Two Sisters: Osray and Brenda Fay Callahan. She was born and raised in Trinity, Texas, where she was educated and later obtained a high school diploma.
Dorothy also attended Business College in Houston, Texas. In her early adulthood she joined OES Golden youth chapter #19. Throughout the years Dorothy had multiple church affiliations including: Mary’s Chapel B.C, Lone Star Missionary B.C, and was a current member of Mt.
Sinai B.C under her brother, Rev. Jasper Callahan. Dorothy was an entertainer at heart.
She loved fishing, singing, and dancing. Saying that there was never a dull moment would be an understatement. From writing and performing her own songs such as “Where did my rainbow go” to gaining the ability to as a “self-taught” pianist to play at multiple churches in the local area.
Dorothy Mae was a natural comedian, by simply being herself she could make you laugh until you cried. Her personality was without a filter and her love without limit. Dorothy was a wonderful sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend.
Left to cherish her memory are her siblings Jasper Callahan (Trinity TX), Anthony Roy Callahan (Renisha) (Trinity TX), (Fletchie Franklin (Angleton TX), Laura Callahan (Houston TX), Linda Colton (Houston TX), Alfreda Perry (Missouri City TX), Glynella Callahan (Emmanuel) (Missouri City TX) and Linda Warefield (Crockett TX). Daughters: Janis Bush (Kevin), and a special daughter Nikita Howe. Long time love and life companion Leonard Earl Lewis.
And The grandchildren who were her pride and joy Bria Bush, Karsten Mack Jr, Terrion Alexander (Morgan), KaRon Smith (Kiana), Ariyah Johnson, & Kevin Craigs Jr She also leaves a large host of loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
