Mrs. Dorothy Poston McKenzie, 92, wife of the late Almon Kenneth McKenzie, died Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at McLeod Hospice House, Florence, after an illness. Graveside services will be 11:30 A.M., Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Lake City Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Carolina Funeral Home.

Mrs. McKenzie was born on September 20, 1925, in Johnsonville, daughter of the late Oscar Fleming Poston and Ettie Esther Parrott Poston. Mrs. McKenzie retired from Belk Department Store after 25 years of service. She was the oldest member of Calvary Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are her daughters, Sharon McKenzie (Ernesto) Watkins of Walterboro, Shirley McKenzie Jordan of Lake City, and Helen McKenzie (Joe) Truluck of Columbia; sisters, Damarus P. Hood of Charleston and Yvonne P. (Russell) Hoffman of Texas; grandchildren, Kenneth Mac (Debbie) Turbeville, Denise (Dalton) Miles, Mike (Sue) Jordan, Herbert (Wanda) Turbeville, and Tim (Cheri) Turbeville, all of Lake City, David (Ann) Truluck of Hopkins, Teresa (Eddie) Etheredge of Swansea, Spencer (Kimber) Jordan of Manning, Ben (Leslie) Wiggins of Ridgeville, Ernie Watkins and Marie (Stephen) Richie, both of New Jersey, Crystal (Ernest) Hilton of Hollywood, and Maxine Watkins of Summerville; great-grandchildren, Drew (Kelbe) Miles, Wade (Mark Kathryn) Jordan, Russ Jordan, Jake Jordan, Mickey Jordan, Dottie Turbeville Creel, Justin Turbeville, Carlie Turbeville (Trent) Edwards, Coleman (Audrey) Turbeville, Matthew Turbeville, Nikki Turbeville, Ryan Truluck, Lauren Truluck, Bryson Wiggins, Riley Jackson, and Colin and Bradon Ritchie, Logan and Taylor Hilton, and Morgan, Charlie & Savin Martin; and great, great-grandchildren, Jada, Adam and Nathan Miles, Heath and Sam Jordan, Kylan and Corbin Creel, Everly and Campbell Edwards. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Evelyn McKenzie Turbeville; granddaughter, Kimberly A. Truluck; brothers, Talbert Poston, Billy Poston, Lawton Poston, Ulysses Poston, Jimmy Poston, and Don Poston; sisters, Annie Ettie Mae Poston, Mae P. Welch and Miriam P. Long; and sons-in-law, Averitt K. Jordan and James Coleman Turbeville. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, P. O. Box 1147, Lake City, SC 29560.
