Obituary for Dorothy White Dorothy Sarah White, 90 Dorothy Sarah White, 90 of Ashland passed away, Saturday, October 13, 2018 at her home. She was born on October 8, 1928 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and adopted and raised by the late Frank and Kate Kegel. Dorothy graduated from Savannah High School, Class of 1947.

She married the love of her life, Robert L. “Bob” White on November 8, 1947. Dorothy was employed at Eagle Rubber Company in her earlier years. She worked on the farm most of her life with her family.

Throughout her life, Dorothy was an American Red Cross volunteer at Samaritan Hospital, the Salvation Army and Methodist Sunbeam. She was a devoted member of the Savannah United Methodist Church where she was a 3rdgrade Sunday school teacher and nursery assistant. She also helped with MYF.

A caring and compassionate mom to her four boys, Dorothy was cub scout den mother and was a member of the Clear Creek Homemakers Association and the 2 D’s Mothers Club. She later served as president of the Ashland County Ohio Republican Party Women’s Club. She enjoyed movies, musicals, concerts, reading, sewing and cooking.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 70 years, Bob White of Ashland; four sons, Ken (Tracey) White of Alpharetta, Georgia, Dale (Misty) White of Ashland, Jim (Kim) White of Seattle, Washington, and Gary White of Prairieville, Louisiana; five grandchildren, Bill, Ciarra, Ashley, Zoey, and Zane White; two nieces, Betty Stephan and Lucille Stephan, both of California; and three nephews, Richard (Cheryl) Stephan of Texas and Frank (Ingrid) Elliott of Massachusetts and Fred Elliott of Oregon. In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth (Fred) Elliott and Katherine (Lloyd) Stephan. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Savannah United Methodist Church with Reverend Johnnie F. Swann officiating.

Interment will follow in the Savannah Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, October 19, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Savannah United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 177, Savannah, Ohio 44874 or to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
