Harold “Hal” Gault age 83, of Columbus formerly of Ashland, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the Kobacker House in Columbus. He was born on June 6, 1935 in Ashland, the son of the late Clarence and Marguerit (Boeh) Gault. Mr. Gault had been employed with the J.C. Penny Company beginning in Ashland and later retiring in Columbus after 41 years.

He received his Real Estate License from the Columbus Institute of Technology. Mr. Gault was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye’s Fan, enjoyed bowling and feeding birds and squirrels.

He had formerly been active with the Hayesville Follies where he enjoyed singing and dancing. Harold was a former member of the Stone Lutheran Church. Survivors include his sisters, Shirley (Donald) Price and Judith Joan Eichelberger both of Ashland; his sister in-law, Eve Gault of Ashland; his several nieces and nephews; his close friends, John Skeaton, Mike Duncan, Jeff Estepp, Jeff and Nan Little; along with his many friends at Paul’s Restaurant where he dined daily.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his brothers, William W. Gault and Phillip Burl Gault, along with his sister, Bonnie Sweet. Funeral Services will be held at Heyl Funeral Home on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Michael Koch officiating. Burial will follow at Ashland County Memorial Park.

Family and friends may gather on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Harold’s memory to the Kobacker House Hospice 800 McConnell Dr. Columbus, OH 43214.
