Dortha Dean Thackeray Brown “Dorothy-Dot” April 14, 1921 – December 1, 2018 Dorothy returned home to her Father in Heaven on December 1, 2018. She will spend this Christmas with her beloved husband, family and friends that have been so anxiously waiting to celebrate with her. She was born April 14, 1921 in Morgan, Utah to Howard Alma and Florence Adams Thackeray.

She was one of their 12 children, eight of whom were half siblings. She married Carmon Rawson Brown on July 24, 1939. Their vows were later solemnized in the Ogden Temple.

Dorothy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Dorothy was very proud of being chosen Miss Morgan County in her youth. While attending the pageant, she was able to see the 32nd President of the United States, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, when he came to Salt Lake City.

He waved to her from his wheelchair on the back platform of a steam engine train. Dorothy was an excellent cook, talented artist, hardworking homemaker, loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother, a wonderful neighbor and friend to all. Together, Dot and her husband Pete had five children; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

She is survived by four sons and one daughter, Stephen (Marilyn), Jesse (Yvonne) Brown, Bonnie (Ron) Amidan, Gary (Ruth) Brown, Larry (Lynnette) Brown many “FAVORITE” Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carmon Rawson Brown, one infant Great Granddaughter, Brittany Amidan and one infant Great-Great Granddaughter, Alice Jane Davis. The family wishes to Thank ALL of the staff at Peach Tree Assisted Living.

Kristi, Mindy and all of the wonderful CNA’s of Comfort Worx Hospice, that so lovingly cared for her at the end. Funeral services will be held Friday December 7, 2018, 1:00 PM. There will be a viewing held Thursday, December 6, 2018 6:00 – 8:00 PM and prior to the service 11:30 – 12:30 PM at Myers Roy Mortuary 5865 S 1900 W Roy, Utah Condolences may be sent to the family at www.
