Obituary for Douglas Arthur McIlvain Douglas Arthur McIlvain, 69, of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. He was born August 26, 1949 in Battle Creek, the son of Lisle and Bernice (Franck) McIlvain. Doug worked for Clark Equipment for 18 years before they closed and then continued his trade at Kellogg Co. for 14 yrs.

He married Sandy Hart on October 18, 1969 in Battle Creek. Doug was a lifetime member of the NRA and The H.O.G. Club. In his younger years he raced motorcycles which turned in to a love for Harley’s and trail riding “Up North”.

Doug enjoyed hunting, golfing, camping, going to the casino, and playing Keno. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. Doug was always smiling and could make a friend out of anyone.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy; sons, Chad McIlvain and Corey (Ellie) McIlvain; grandchildren, Lyle, Colin (Mariah), and Leah; a great granddaughter on the way; brother-in-law, Steve (Sharon) Hart; niece, Kerri; and close friends, Ron Wing and John Mauer. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with the funeral to immediately follow at 1:00 PM.
