Douglas E. Hargrave, age 87, of Tecumseh, passed away unexpectedly December 25, 2018. He was born November 8, 1931, in Plymouth, MI, the son of Ellery and Margaret (Tillotson) Hargrave. On May 23, 1959, he married Lily May DeLine in Jasper, MI, and she preceded him in death on November 15, 1993.

Doug was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He was retired from the Tecumseh Products Company with close to 40 years of service. Doug attended Maple Avenue Bible Church, Adrian.

In his younger years he enjoyed farming. Doug is survived by his sister Jane (Dave) Williams of Tipton; 6 nieces and nephews; Brad (Melinda) Williams, Ben (Teresa) Williams, Susie (Victor) Whitehead, Judy Rigney, Diane (Eddie) Colvin, and Jim (Kelly) Hargrave and many great nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Lily, he was preceded in death by his brother Jim Hargrave and sister-in-law, Phyllis Hargrave.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, December 29, 2018 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, with Pastor Gene Reitz officiating. Interment will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh with military honors performed by Tecumseh American Legion Post #34 and Tecumseh VFW Post #4187 Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh from 10:00 a.m until time of funeral service.
