Douglas Eugene Archer, Jr. 66, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at his home. Mr. Archer was born February 11, 1953 to the late Douglas and Annie Ruth Archer. Doug retired from Norwood Water Plant and loved to play Bluegrass music in his spare time.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 10:45 am, Friday, February 15, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 am, located at Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 East Main St., Albemarle officiated by Rev. Delane Burris.

Doug is survived by his wife of 43 years, Dorothy “Lou” Archer; sister, Sandy Archer Smith and husband Jack; niece, Stacey L. Smith; nephew, Daniel D. Smith. Memorials may be made to Hospice Stanly County & The Uwharrie, 960 North First Street, Albemarle, NC. 28001.
