Obituary for Dr. Bill Ayers Dr. William “Bill” Ayers, 81, of Broomfield, CO, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2018, at his home after a battle with cancer. Bill was born in Columbus, OH, on July 14, 1937, son of the late William and Mary Ayers. Bill, the ever loving and devoted husband, is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathy, along with his two children, Brent (Kristin) and Beth Ayers, three granddaughters, Renee, Megan, and Jordan, his brother, Stephen, along with numerous nieces and nephews who he loved unconditionally.
A proud alumni of The Ohio State University, Bill not only graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education but continued on to find his true passion and obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1966. Bill and Kathy moved to Colorado to complete his internship at Denver General Hospital then chose to settle in Broomfield to open a dental practice in 1967—where he came to view his patients as close friends and his employees as members of his family. As a man who was committed to helping and supporting not only his family but all the youth of Broomfield: Bill founded the Booster Club for Broomfield High School athletics soon after arriving and then coached youth football, soccer, and basketball for numerous years where his players brought him an overwhelming sense of joy and contentment.
He continued with his dedication to philanthropy by becoming extremely active for his entire adult life in numerous organizations including Rotary, the Broomfield Chamber of Congress, the Presbyterian Church, and the Boulder Dental Society. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, September 7th, at the Broomfield United Methodist church, 545 W. 10th Ave, in Broomfield, CO.
