Birmingham Funeral service for Dr. James E. Moody, 90, will be Sunday, July 1, 2018 at 3:30 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ralph Henderson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Peck Funeral Home. Dr. Moody died on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Aspire Nursing Home. He was born January 30, 1928, in Asheville, Alabama to Ellis Moody and Addie Lou Floyd Moody.

He was a graduate of Howard College and went to the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He then, was a Physician in Hartselle for many years after which he moved to Addison, Alabama and practiced there until his retirement. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife: Joan Moody. A Special Thank You to the Gill Family, Carolyn Farris, Aspire Nursing Home, Caregiver: Angelina Johnson, Southern Care New Beacon Hospice, Bettie Horton and Dale Smith. Survivors include: One Son: Judge James E. Moody, Jr. (Cathy) Two Daughters: Jerri Moody White (Larry) and Jill Moody Cilimberg (Craig) One Brother: Bob Moody (Rebecca) Four Grandchildren: Ryan Moody (JoAnn), Zack Moody, Michael Cilimberg (Kacey) and Matthew Cilimberg Two Great Grandchildren: Brenna Moody and Molly Moody In lieu of flowers: memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society.
