Dr. Reginald Bradley Stiles, Sr., was born January 1, 1942 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was the son of Maxine Dean Stiles and Albert B. Stiles. As a youth, he accepted Christ and joined the Neighborhood Church and remained there throughout high school.
Reggie was a proud product of Fort Wayne Community Schools, graduating from Central High School in 1960. He attended Indiana University until a summer job in computer programming at Lincoln Life turned into a permanent position. When he returned to Fort Wayne from IU, he followed his soon-to-be bride to Pilgrim Baptist Church and was baptized by the late Rev.
John Dixie. On Christmas Day 1964, Reggie and Delois were joined in holy matrimony. He worked at Lincoln Life until he took a computer programming job at General Electric, where he remained until 1973.
That is when he left Fort Wayne to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a physician. He moved his pregnant wife and four young children from Fort Wayne, IN to New York to enter medical school at the State University of New York at Buffalo. After graduating with his medical degree in 1977, Dr. Stiles entered a three-year residency at Fort Wayne Medical Education Program.
July 1, 1980, he opened his private Family Practice office at 3217 Lake Avenue. During his medical career, Dr. Stiles served as the physician for The City of Fort Wayne under Mayor Win Moses and as the physician for Wayne Township. One of his most proud moments came in 2001 when his daughter, Dr. Sherri Stiles-Walker, joined him as a partner in the practice.
Dr. Stiles was proud of his journey and served the Fort Wayne community as a Family Practice physician for 30 years! He inspired many people that he met to consider careers in the medical field and trained several nurses and medical assistants through his office. Those who knew him best will tell you that he loved bowling, listening to music, playing cards with friends, and driving his iconic red corvette with the “2Quick” license plate.
Above all else, Dr. Stiles loved his family with his whole heart. He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Delois Miller Stiles, his children Regina (Marcus-Alan) Stiles Gilbert of Dallas, Texas, Reginald Bradley Stiles Jr., Kimberly (Quinton) Stiles Dixie, Sherri (Detrick) Stiles Franklin, Randall Brian Stiles all of Fort Wayne, Indiana; a brother, Ronnie Stiles, 3 granddaughters: Jillian Naomi Stiles Dixie, Jaqueline Noel Stiles Dixie and Arrianna Brinley Franklin, and 10 grandsons: John Jeremiah Stiles Dixie, Alexander Bernard Walker, James Jedediah Stiles Dixie, Reginald Parker Stiles, Elijah Gregory Walker, Joshua Bayden Walker, Zachary Garrison Walker, George Alan Gilbert, Kenton Isaiah Stiles, Detrick Aiden Franklin and a host of other relatives, friends and colleagues.
