Obituary for Dr. Richard Bruce Kirkpatrick Dr. Richard Bruce Kirkpatrick, died Friday, September 7, 2018 at his home in Magnolia, Arkansas. Richard was born January 15, 1932 in McNeil, Arkansas to Arthur Edward and Maude Alma Bennett Kirkpatrick. He was a 1949 graduate of Magnolia High School and a graduate of the School of Pharmacy at the University of Arkansas School for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

After graduation, he served as a medic and pharmacist in the US Army stationed in Germany and Paris, France. After his discharge, he joined a close friend, Arch Ellington, of Hope, AR in Juneau, Alaska and worked as pharmacists enjoying a life of hunting and fishing in the Last Frontier, before returning to Arkansas to marry and settle down. He was the co-owner of M & D Pharmacy with Goss Dansby in Camden, Arkansas.

A lifelong Methodist, he was an active and faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Magnolia where he was a member of the Chancel Choir, Pairs and Spares Class, Leland Clegg Class, a Gideon, and a member of the Square Dance club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Billie Jean Graves Kirkpatrick in October 2006; and brother, Thomas E. Kirkpatrick in May 2017. He’s survived by his 3 sons, David H. Kirkpatrick of Magnolia, Daniel Kirkpatrick, and wife Barbara, of Nashville, AR, John Kirkpatrick and wife, Kristin of Magnolia; 4 grandchildren, Matthew Kirkpatrick, Catherine Kirkpatrick, Ryan Hudgens, and Reed Kirkpatrick; Nieces and nephews: Gena (Kirkpatrick) Davis, and husband, Allen, Dr. Gregg (Kathy) Marshall, Art Graves, Robin (Harvey) Tallant, Robert (Suyapa) Graves, and Melissa (Michael) Smith; and by four legged companions, Molly and Tara.

The family expresses thanks to his caregiver, Dianne Williamson, for her compassionate care. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, September 9, 2018, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Lewis Funeral Home in Magnolia. Funeral services will be Monday, September 10, 2018 at 10:30 AM at First United Methodist Church in Magnolia with Rev.
