Dr. Ruben F. Vizcarra, 88, of Logansport, passed away Sunday May 6, 2018 in McKinney Place, Logansport. Born January 17, 1930 in Santiago Isabela, Philippines he was the son to the late Jorge Vizcarra and Anastacia Fabian, On August 27, 1962 he married Elinor Irene Shelley who preceded in death December 10, 2014. Dr. Vizcarra retired in 2009 after 45 years as a physician working most of that time in Logansport.

Previously he completed his residencies in San Francisco and established his first practice in Stockton, California. He was a member of the Indiana Academy of Family Physicians and the Indiana State Medical Association. He attended the First United Methodist and Cross Wind United Methodist Churches in Logansport.

Survivors include two children, Gavin (Lori) Vizcarra, Logansport; Alisa Vizcarra, Sarasota, FL; one sister, Rosalina Tayag, Philippines; one brother, Camilo Vizcarra, Philippines; one grandson, Evan Vizcarra A Celebration of Life will be held on 1:30 PM Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Nick Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport, IN. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service in the Gundrum Funeral Home.
