Dr. Wayne D. “Butch” Pray October 12, 1945 – February 23, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Dr. Wayne Douglas “Butch” Pray was bom in Winnfield, Louisiana on October 12,1945, to Daniel Oscar and Cornelia Long Pray, who preceded him in death. He passed away on February 23,2019, due to an accident. Butch was an honor graduate of Winnfield High School, LSU and Texas A & M University from whence he got his Veterinarian degree.

For many years he owned and operated the Winnfield Animal Clinic, then he retired to do what he most loved; work on large animals particularly horses. Butch was the consummate cowboy, who never wore cowboy boots nor cowboy hats. He loved funny stories and was known to tell a few himself, but often he said that one of his greatest pleasures was not the hunt, but the woods.

He was predeceased by his son, Trenton Cole Pray and a nephew, Dr. Alan Kyle Bozeman. He is survived by his wife Jessie Doughty Pray, his son Tyler Pray, grandchildren Breanna and Colby Pray and their mother Veronica Pray. He is also survived by Jessie’s children, Cole, Caleb, Nathan and Micaela Reed; two sisters, Donnis Pray Bozeman and spouse Martin Ray Bozeman and Renee Pray Keiffer; three nephews, Drs.

Craig, and Caleb Bozeman, Seth Keiffer and one niece, Shelley Miller. He is also survived by an aunt, Priscilla Long Bedgood, special cousins, Oneeda Sanders, Kim Caldwell, Gene and Pat Long. His many cousins and friends can tell RoBo Alice and Butch stories for years to come, for if you ever met him-you would never forget him.
