Draga (nee Smilinich) Swagel, age 84, of Tonawanda, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at DeGraff Memorial Hospital in North Tonawanda. Born July 8, 1933 in Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Katharina (nee Suk) Smilinich and had been a lifelong resident of Tonawanda. Draga worked at the General Motors Engine Plant in the Town of Tonawanda before retiring.

She was the mother of Stephen M. Swagel of Tonawanda and Michael (Corinne) Swagel of Chandler, Arizona; grandmother of Stephen, Kelli, Katherine, and Andrew Swagel; and sister of Helen (Albert) Fadell and the late Bronco, Andrew and Charles Smilinich, and Mildred Magaris. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. There is no visitation.

Services will be cared for privately at the convenience of the family followed by inurnment at Elmlawn Cemetery. If desired, memorials to a church or charity of your choice are preferred by the family.
