Obituary for Duane Lee Beed FULLERTON—Duane Lee Beed, 81, of Fullerton, died Thursday, October 18, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2018, at Fullerton Community Church in Fullerton with Pastor Vern Olson and Aaron Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Fullerton Cemetery in Fullerton.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday, October 21st at the church. Palmer-Santin Funeral Home in Fullerton is in charge of the arrangements. Duane was born June 21, 1937 to Charles and Fern (Sparr) Beed at Meadow Grove, NE.

He attended school in Tilden. He moved to New York state in his teen years. In 1962, he moved to Fullerton and worked at the creamery.

In 1964, he moved to Grand Island and worked at Rain Chief Irrigation. On August 5, 1964, he married Myrna Boardman and they moved to Alda, where he worked at Gifford-Hill Irrigation and A&G Pipe. In 1979, they moved back to Fullerton and Duane started his own pivot repair business.

He also worked for Larry and Rick Boardman on the farm. Before retiring, he also helped with traffic control when they redid the new bridge and highway in Fullerton. He enjoyed woodworking, raising a garden, repairing houses, fishing, boating, camping, and watching football.

Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. They truly meant the world to him. He is survived by his wife, Myrna of Fullerton; sons, Duane A. Beed and fiancée, Karla, of Grand Island, Kirk (Sue) Whitford of Cincinnati, OH, and Marvin (Angie) Beed of Fullerton; daughters, Christine (Tom) Rice of Fullerton and Celeste (Regan) King of Albion; son-in-law, Carl (Kayla) Shively of Clarks; 14 grandchildren, Krystal (Jason) Colbert, Jessica Beed, Shannon Beed, Calestine (Jarod) Stern, Julia (Bryce) Wilson, Daniel Whitford, Caitlyn Beed, Isaac Beed, Brook (Max) Poffenbagger, Jestin Beed, Dimyana Canul, Sadie King, Anthony (Justine) Shively, and Calvin (Stephanie) Shively; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Art Beed, Richard Beed, Dennis (Delia) Beed, Glen (Sue) Beed, Donnie Beed, and Elvin Beed; sisters, Shirley Yertan, Carolyn Kunze, and Carol Seim; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Beed.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Robin Beed and Audra Shively; brother, Carl Beed; sister, Delores Landauer; brothers-in-law, Dan Landauer, Ray Yerton, Jim Kunze, and Bob Seim; in-laws, Marvin and Mary Boardman; nephews, Roger Kunze and Ricky Beed; and niece, Felicia Houston.
