Earl F. Schulte, age 96, of Genoa, OH, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital in Oregon. He was born on January 20, 1922 in Genoa, OH to Louis and Esther (Bosse) Schulte. Earl was a graduate of Lake High School’s class of 1940.

He married Evelyn Weseman on January 30, 1945 in Perrysburg. He was a WWII Veteran having served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army. In 1944 Earl, served as a medic in the Battle of Ardens (Bulge) in France, also serving under General Patton… Read More » in Germany.

He was a recipient of the Purple Heart, and was awarded a Bronze and Silver Star. In his final days, he shared many of his war stories with his nurses, because he was so proud to have served his country. Earl returned home to be a lifelong farmer and raised 4 daughters and would eventually celebrate 73 years of marriage with Evelyn.

Earl is survived by his loving wife Evelyn, daughters: Joyce LaVoy, Judy (Richard) Brackle, Jean Duquette and Janet (Jim) Platek, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, brother: Harold (Irene) Schulte, sister-in-law: Ellen Schulte and numerous special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Lowell Schulte and Wilbur Schulte, sons-in-law: Lloyd Duquette and Jeff LaVoy. Family and friends will be received on 1-5 p.m., Sunday, December 23, 2018 at the Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 110 Main St, Luckey, OH.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 24, 2018 from Zion Lutheran Church (Latcha), 26535 Pemberville Road Perrysburg, OH, where there will be an additional time of visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Perrysburg, OH. Officiating will be Rev.

Steve Bull. There will be a bereavement luncheon served in church fellowship hall immediately following the cemetery committal service. Memorial contributions may take the form of contributions to: Zion Lutheran Church.
