Born July 7, 1935, in Rockford, the daughter of Jean Paul and Mary Flora (Meinheit) Artz. Married Troy Waggoner on October 1967 in Rockford.

Retired from the Rockford Public Library. Edith loved camping, fishing, playing bingo and spending time with her family. Survivors include daughter Yvonne (William) Mariani of Davis; four grandchildren, Tonya (Burk) Glogowski, Stephanie Ebbings, Gary Ebbings, and Troy (Angela) Ebbings; five great-grandchildren, Zachary, Eriana, Noah, Marc and Vincent; sister, Helen Sell-King of Loves Park; three brothers, Rodney (Diana) Artz of Arkansas, Jerald (Sharon) Artz of Loves Park, and Lyle Artz of Missouri.

Predeceased by her husband, Troy; great-granddaughter, Tessa Marie Goldowski; three brothers, Jr., George, and Jim; and sister, Mary Lou Richter. Service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to time of service. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
