Edmond “Duke” Wall passed away June 1, 2018 peacefully at his home in Surfside Beach, SC. Duke was born in Torrington, CT son of Edmond Wall, Sr. and Gertrude Durant Wall. He was a student at St. Francis School and graduated from Torrington High School in 1968 where he was a proud member of the diving team.

Upon graduation Duke proudly served his country in Vietnam as a member of the United States Air Force. Following his time in Vietnam, Duke returned and began his 30 plus year career with Connecticut Distributors where he made countless friends in the industry. Upon Duke’s retirement from Connecticut Distributors, he made his vacation home permanent in Oceanside Village Surfside Beach, SC.

He loved life in the South and he took his retirement very seriously. Duke enjoyed his daily golf cart rides and patrolling the beach from his spot. His doors were always open to his friends in The Village, who immediately welcomed him with open arms.

Duke is survived by his beloved son Brent Wall his wife Krystal Brunoli Wall and their two children Elias and Carson, and “Baby Girl” Wall due any day. Duke was extremely proud of his grandsons and stayed very much involved in their lives through visits, facetime, or texts. He is also survived by his sisters Sheila Wall Pekrul of Torrington and Kathleen Kassner of Falmouth, MA and his sister in law Charlene O’Neil of Torrington.

In addition to his siblings he leaves behind his nieces and nephew Meegan O’Neil Bornstein, Trevor Kassner, ColleenKassner Ulm, Cameron Pekrul Pruchnicki, Katrina O’Neil Weckenbrock, Kieron Kassner, and Morgan Pekrul. He also leaves behind his great niece and nephew Grace and Noah Pruchnicki who lovingly referred to him as Uncle Gookie. Duke will be deeply missed by countless family and friends, including lifelong friend, Fran Ducotey, Sr. Friends may call Sunday June 10, 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Phalen Funeral Home.

A Celebration of life will be held Monday June 11, Noon to 3 PM at Chatterly’s in Torrington. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. www.
