Torrington- Elizabeth P. Dzurnak, 72, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. Elizabeth was born in Torrington on January 25, 1946, daughter of the late George M. Dzurnak, Sr., and Helen E. (Kupcik) Dzurnak, and had been a lifelong city resident. She was a retired Library Assistant at UConn, retiring with 32 years of service.

Elizabeth was a graduate of the former Sacred Heart School, Torrington High School Class of 1963, and St. Joseph’s College Class of 1967. She was a lifelong communicant of Sacred Heart Church and had been a member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society. Elizabeth was an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially Bill and Chase Elliott, reading, word puzzles, and cats.

Survivors include a brother, George M. Dzurnak, Jr., of Torrington; a sister, Sister Maria Thomas More, SS.C.M., of Danville, PA; and several cousins. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 11, 2018 at 8:30a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to Sacred Heart Church, 116 Grove St., Torrington for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30a.m. Burial will follow in Old St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Sunday afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.

At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter/St. Francis School, 360 Prospect St., Torrington, CT 06790.
