Kathleen Lenihan, 82, of Torrington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 25th, at home. She was the wife of the late Francis E. Lenihan. Kathleen was born in Torrington, CT on August 14, 1935, a daughter of the late Louise (Fogarty) and James Magyar, Sr

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was employed by the Torrington Company and later worked for Cavaciuti Realty. An active member of Saint Maron’s Church she enjoyed her volunteer work for the Church and for Torringford School.

She enjoyed attending her grandson’s swim meets. She was an avid UCONN Husky Women’s Basketball fan. She is survived by her son, Bryan Lenihan, his wife Susan Gilson, and their son Nicholas Lenihan of Hopkinton MA.

Other immediate family members include a brother Stephen Magyar of Sun City West, AZ, nieces and nephews Denise, Mark, Keith, Kevin and Stephen Magyar, Cathy Serkosky, and Gerri Howard, and was predeceased by a sister Noreen and brothers William and James Magyar. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 31st at St Maron Church in Torrington, Burial will follow at Saint Peter Cemetery. Friends may call 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, July 30th at Phalen Funeral Home.
