Edna Marie Levasseur, 90, passed away Saturday at Kent Hospital after a short illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul E. Levasseur. She was born in New Brunswick, Canada and lived most of her life in Rhode Island.

Edna was a registered Certified Nursing Assistant and had been employed at The Mansion, several years. She also had been employed at Hospice Care of R. I. She had been a member of the Red Hats Society. Edna was a woman of great faith and devotion to her family.

She leaves 2 daughters, Linda Laurence of W. Warwick and Cindy DeBronzo of Attleboro; 3 sons, Ronald Levasseur of No. Providence, Daniel Levasseur of Pawtucket and Roger Levasseur of W. Warwick. She was the Grandmother to 22 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great Great Grandchildren.

She also was the sister of Pat Elzinga of Ontario, Canada and 2 nieces, Paty and Jacquie also of Ontario and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Robert and Paul Levasseur and the Grandmother of the late Jason Laurence and James Levasseur. Her Funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:45 AM from the Charles Coelho Funeral Home, 151 Cross St. Central Falls, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick’s Church, 244 Smith St. Providence at 10 AM.

Visiting Hours at the Funeral Home are on Tuesday, 5 until 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to VNA Hospice would be appreciated.
