Obituary for Edna Ruth Hutson (Mays) Mrs. Edna Ruth Hutson September 24, 1943 – November 13, 2018 Mrs. Edna Ruth Hutson, age 75, of Milner, GA passed away Monday November 13, 2018 at Spalding Regional Hospital. Mrs. Hutson was born on September 24, 1943 in Griffin, GA. She graduated from Griffin High School in 1962.
She became a licensed cosmetologist and hairdresser, and operated her own business Hair Styles by Edna Ruth. She was a member of Second Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school, was involved in Acteens and served as director of WMU. She was also active in Girl Scouts and the ABCettes for many years as well.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Stanley Mays and Ruby Chambers Mays; and brothers, Cecil Mays, J.D. Mays, Robert Mays and Floyd Mays. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Clifford Hutson; daughters and sons-in-law, Krista Hutson Summerour and David, and Kaye Hutson Reaves and Jerry; son and daughter-in-law, Cliff Hutson and Angie; grandchildren, Alex Reaves, Brooks Summerour, Kaitlyn Summerour, Ansley Hutson, Emma Hutson, Rylee Reaves, Kassidy Reaves and Chloe Summerour; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy Mays and Gloria; sisters-in-law, Bettie Mays, Helmi Mays, Linda Reid and her husband Bill; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Ruth Hutson will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home.
Dr. David Hill and Rev. Jim Cannady will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 1:30 p.m. until the service hour on Saturday at the funeral home.
