Edna Tanner Romer, 98, passed away on April 17, 2018. She was born January 6, 1920 to David Ralph Tanner and Edith Chloe Kimber Tanner in Etna, UT. She grew up in Grouse Creek, later moving to Brigham City where she met and married her eternal companion William Romer on June 14, 1957 in the Logan Temple.

Edna was known as a hardworking, strong, caring and compassionate woman. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend. She would do everything and anything she could for someone.

She was the human version of sunshine and brought joy to everyone she met in her 98 years. Throughout her life Edna worked for the IRS, Hill Air Force Base, was the secretary to the Wellsville Mountain Project Association and the secretary for the county agent in Brigham City but she was most known for being the “babysitter”. She babysat everyone’s children in the state of Utah and beyond but loved every minute of it.

She was also a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held various positions within the church. Edna enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, reading, word searches and most of all, Hershey Kisses. Anyone who knew her knew that she kept a steady supply of Hershey Kisses, she claimed it was what kept her alive for so long.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband William Romer, son Don Romer, granddaughter Roćelle Romer, parents David and Edith Chloe Kimber Tanner, sisters Therma Lee, Florence Jensen, Berniece Hobson, and two brothers Dean Tanner and Deloy Tanner. She is survived by her daughter Sheryl Scott, grandson Brandon (Michelle) Romer, granddaughters: Jennifer Fujikawa and Shayla Scott as well as endless grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren as she was “Grandma” to everyone. A special thanks to Jason Bohman and all of the CNS Hospice staff as well as all of the staff at Pioneer Care Center that took such great care of Edna Tanner Romer in her later years.
