John (Jack) Edward Olson died peacefully on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. Jack was born December 8, 1936 to Lucille Driver and Edward Blaes. He became an Olson when his mother married Dr. J. G. Olson.

Jack graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber State University. He retired from Hill Air Force Base where his proudest accomplishment was organizing the Utah visit of President Ronald Reagan and taking the President to Tomato Days in Hooper. After retiring Jack drove buses for Head Start and St. Joseph’s Elementary School.

Jack was married three times; his wife DaLane died in 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by four daughters: Julie (Jay Flenniken) Olson, Jeri (Scott) Whiting, and Jacki (Jeff) Davis all of Kaysville as well as Susan (Jerome) Sabol of Decatur, Georgia, 12 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren.

He is also survived by sisters Dolores Sandberg, Linda (Gene) Kosel of Bismark, North Dakota, and Elizabeth J. Olson of Newport Beach, California as well as a niece Katelin (Jordan Bonafede) Olson of Trumansburg, New York A Family & Friends gathering will be held Wednesday, May 30 at Aaron’s Mortuary in Ogden, Utah. In lieu of flowers the family recommends donations to www. bestfriends.org.
