Mary June Harris Mary June Stephens Harris returned home to her Heavenly Father while holding the hand of her beloved husband of nearly 65 years, on May 9, 2018, in Ogden. Utah. June was born in Grantsville, Utah on Feb.

20, 1933 to Charles and Grace Marie Stephens. She graduated from Tooele High School in 1951. On September 11, 1953 she married the love of her life, David Albert Harris Jr. in the Salt Lake Temple.

Together as a young married couple, they lived in Austria, where their oldest daughter Tyra was born, as Al served in the US Army. Returning to Utah to finish Al’s schooling at the University of Utah, their second daughter Renee was born. After graduating they moved to Lompoc, CA, where they had their son David.

After retirement they served a mission together for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the New York Rochester Mission where they enjoyed serving at the LDS church history sites. After returning home, they were called to be temple workers in the Los Angeles LDS temple. After 43 happy years living in beautiful Lompoc, they decided to move to Utah to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

June loved beautiful things and making people happy with her wonderful cooking and baking. She was never more content than when she had family gathered around her. Mom was the heart of our family and she had an unwavering testimony of her Savior and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

She lived it in her daily life by serving others tirelessly. She served in many ward and stake church leadership positions but her favorite was Relief Society. She will be deeply missed by her family and many new and lifelong friends.

June is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Al; daughters Tyra Partridge (Tom), Renee Gardner (Lorin) and son, David A. Harris III (Sharon); 17 grandchildren; 36 ½ great-grandchildren and a brother David Stephens (Helen). She is preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Nichole Farrell; sisters Maxine Douglas and Billie Jean Hymas, and a brother Phil Stephens. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 11 am at the Coldwater LDS Stake Center, 770 E. 2100 N., North Ogden, UT.

It was the request of June that everyone wear bright and happy colors. A viewing will be held Monday, May 14th from 6 – 8 pm at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. , Ogden, UT and prior to the service from 9:45 – 10:30 am at the Stake Center.

Interment at Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden, UT. In lieu of flowers, suggested donations can be made to Primary Children’s Hospital or the LDS Missionary Fund.
