Wayne Charlton December 25, 1930 – May 30, 2018 Wayne Charlton, 87, passed from this life peacefully on May 30, 2018, at his home in Goldsby, OK, surrounded by family. He was born on December 25, 1930 to Thomas and Isabell Skeen Charlton in Ogden, Utah. He was the 12th of 13 children.

It was in these years he began to develop a love for horses from his grandfather. Wayne married Delores Hipwell on June 9, 1950 in the Salt Lake City Temple and resided in Ogden, Utah. They were blessed with two children, LaRee (Charlton) Herrick and Brent Charlton.

Wayne turned his passion and dream of training and racing horses into a career which took him to California and Oklahoma. Wayne lost his wife, Delores, of 43 years in 1993 and later married Barbara Robertson in Norman, Oklahoma on Feb. 18, 1994 and has resided in Goldsby, OK.

Wayne is survived by his current wife Barbara; 2 children, Brent (Joan) and LaRee (Ross); 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren along with 5 step-children; 18 step-grandchildren and 8 step-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday June 6, 2018 at the West Weber Ward Chapel, 4100 West 900 South. Friends and family may visit with the family prior from 9:15 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, West Weber Cemetery.

A Memorial Service will be held June 22nd in Bethany, OK. A special thank you to Barbara for her tireless and loving care in his last months and for the kind medical services given by those at Good Shepherd Hospice in Oklahoma City, OK. Arrangements entrusted to Myers Ogden Mortuary.
