Dolly J. Sandefur was born on September 11,1942 in Denver, Colorado. She is the daughter of John and Irene Birkholz. By growing up in a military family, she was moved to many places.

In 1960 Dolly graduated at Yamato High, Tokyo, Japan. Her parents retired, bought a house, and settled in Layton, Utah. Then Dolly graduated from Weber State College with a teaching degree in Physical Education with a minor in Art.

Also, obtaining an elementary teaching credential. Dolly married Carlos D. Sandefur in 1968, who was being sent PCS to Kelly A.F.B., San Antonio, Texas. There, Dolly was a first grade school teacher until her husband finished his tour in the service.

They decided to move to Roy, Utah. Eventually, Dolly started working for a Pharmist, Lloyd Thomas of Roy Pharmacy. Dolly worked for the pharmacy for more than 40 years, before retiring.

Dolly passed away last Sunday night at the Apple Village in Layton, Utah. She is survived by brothers Bill and Jay Birkholz;. preceded in death by her father John and brother John.
