Obituary for Mr. Edward Michael Swift Edward Michael Swift age 52 years of Paulsboro went home to be with the Lord on Monday April 23, 2018. Mike was born in Underwood Hospital to Edward M. and Betty Sammons Donofrio Swift on August 17, 1965. He was raised in East Greenwich, attending the township schools before graduating from Kingsway in 1984.
After graduating, “Swifty” graduated from Pennco Tech in 1991 from their Diesel Truck Program. Mike worked for several years for Azzari Construction, moving on to work at Stroehmann Bakery, Siegfried USA, Valero and lastly, Barry Callebaut in Chester, PA. He was a standing member of the Paulsboro Sportsmen’s Club and a long time animal lover, ever since he watched the movie “Old Yeller”.
Mike had a wonderful laugh, and enjoyed making those around him laugh especially at all the holdays and family affairs. He was proud to purchase his home in Paulsboro and enjoyed taking care of it. Mike was raised in a large loving family and survived by his parents, Edward and Betty Swift of Clarksboro; his sisters, Mollie Jo Swift, Laurie Swift, Christina Simmler, Monica Volovnik, Rosemary Lee, Kathleen Guzzo, Kathy Martin, Regina Gotchel, Bernadette Contreras, Beth Donofrio and Jean Walko; his brother, Chris Swift; 23 nieces and nephews And his furry buddies, Mr. Murph and Mickey.
The Funeral Service will be held at 8 PM Thursday April 26, 2018 in the McBride – Foley Funeral Home, 228 W. Broad St., Paulsboro. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Thursday evening after 6 PM until service time. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday April 27, 2018 in New St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Swedesboro Rd.
