Obituary for Mrs. Betty Jane Hurst Betty Jane Hurst (nee Mattson) age 85 years of Paulsboro died Monday April 16, 2018 in Inspira Hospital with her family by her side. Betty was born and raised in Woodbury and graduated from Woodbury High School Class of 1950. After raising her children, she was well known by many for working at Heritage’s in Paulsboro.

She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Paulsboro and a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Highland Chemical Fire Company in Pitman. Betty was an avid supporter in her community with Paulsboro Midget Football, Paulsboro Little League and the Paulsboro High School Wrestling program. She enjoyed sewing, reading, vacations in Stone Harbor and treasured times spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, George E. Hurst of Paulsboro; her children, Debra and Fred Catalano of Oro Valley, Arizona, George J. Hurst of Paulsboro, Gregory and Eileen Hurst of West Deptford, Cherie and Alan Ligameri of Elkton, MD, Colette and Richard Wolfer of Carneys Point, Christopher and Rita Hurst of Crofton, Maryland, Danielle and Chris Starkey of Paulsboro; 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; her sister, Floretta and David Harrington of Tuczon, Arizona; her sister in laws, Betty and Bill Bolopue of Gibbstown, Shirley Gregor of Clarksboro and several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM Friday April 20, 2018 in the McBride – Foley Funeral Home, 228 West Broad St., Paulsboro. Relatives and friends may visit with the family after 9 AM Friday until service time.
