Monson-Eileen E. (Lynch) Shields, 95, passed away, Thursday, June 7, 2018 surrounded by the love of family. Eileen was born April 21, 1923 in Rockville, CT to the late Michael J. and Alice J. (O’Keefe) Lynch. She was a graduate of Monson High School and retired from Friendly Corporation.

Prior to Friendly’s Eileen worked at Monson Academy and AD Ellis Mills. She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Monosn and a member of the Daughters of Isabella. Eileen was predeceased by her husband Jack Shields.

She leaves their children; John Shields and his wife Ruth, Maureen Presho and her husband Bob, and Patricia Shields all of Monson. Four grandchildren; Michele Presho, Bridget Moriarty and her husband Jeremy, Rob Presho and his wife Sarah and Liam Shields; great grandchildren, Riley, Ruby and Ryder Presho, Shamus and Jacob Moriarty and Natalya Pafumi; many nieces and nephews. Eileen was predeceased by her brothers; John Lynch and Matthew Lynch.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 4-7 in Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 15, 2018 beginning at 9am at Lombard Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Patrick’s Church with burial to follow at Bethany Cemetery all in Monson. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions my be made to the Monson Free Library 2 High St. Monson, MA 01057 or to the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, PO Box 160, attn: Development Department, Hatfield, Massachusetts 01038.
