OBITUARY Elaine A. Hodnett January 19, 1923 – July 26, 2018 Elaine A. Hodnett, 95, of Poplarville, Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018 in Forrest General Hospital, Hattiesburg. Mrs. Hodnett was born January 19, 1923 in Metropolis, Illinois to Louis E. Hunerkoch and Meta Korte Hunerkoch. She was a homemaker; an avid gardener; and a member of Poplarville First United Methodist Church.

She married Alvis Quay Hodnett on April 19, 1947 in New Orleans, Louisiana. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Mary Hunerkoch; three brothers, Paul Hunerkoch, Carl Hunerkoch, and Harold Hunerkoch. Family members include her husband of 71 years, Alvis Quay Hodnett; three children, Royce (Glenda) Hodnett, Steve (Miriam) Hodnett, Paul (Rhenda) Hodnett; eight grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; and fourteen great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at White Funeral Home, 315 Highway 11 South, Poplarville, MS, 39470 on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Ed King and Rev.

Shane Moore will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation one hour prior to the service, Saturday at the funeral home.
