Elaine Ruth (Anderson) LaLuzerne, 87, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on December 29th, 2018, at Door County Medical Center Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born August 5, 1931, to Raymond A. and Esther (Ellison) Anderson in Sawyer (Sturgeon Bay) WI. After attending the Old Sawyer grade school in her younger days, Elaine graduated in 1949 from Sturgeon Bay High School.
Upon graduation, she was employed by Door County Motors and Baudhuin Yacht Harbor as a secretary/bookkeeper. After taking a few years off to raise her children, she was employed in the office at Evergreen Nursery until her retirement. Elaine was a member of Corpus Christi Parish where she married Wendell LaLuzerne on November 17, 1954.
He preceded her in death on November 20, 1984, after 30 years of marriage. Elaine enjoyed keeping in contact with and spending time with her children and their families, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In the past, she enjoyed her flower gardening, an occasional visit to Arizona, and attending Packer games.
She was now content to watch the Packers on television along with Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She also enjoyed, genealogy, doing computer games, word puzzles, and Sudoku. She is survived by her six children: Steve (Lori) LaLuzerne of Sturgeon Bay, Sharon Kruck of Sturgeon Bay, Sue (Randy) Ploor of Sturgeon Bay, Kevin (Doris) LaLuzerne of Sturgeon Bay, Michael (Sandy Masters) LaLuzerne of Chandler, Arizona, and Mary (Dennis) Johnson of Green Bay.
She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, in-laws: Milton (Lorraine) LaLuzerne, Donald (Jillian) LaLuzerne, Diane (Allen) Johnson, and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband Wendell; her parents Raymond and Esther Anderson; infant son David and grandsons, Matthew and Adam LaLuzerne; father-in-law and mother-in-law Clarence and Emma LaLuzerne; nephew Mark LaLuzerne, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. A special thank you to the caring staffs at Cardinal Ridge Assisted Living Facility, Door County Medical Center Skilled Nursing Facility, and Unity Hospice.
Family and friends may attend a visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 31st, 2018 at Corpus Christi Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Father Carl Schmitt officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery beside her husband Wendell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Joseph Cemetery, Mount Olive Cemetery, or the Father Tony Birdsall Prayer and Reflection Garden. Forbes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be offered at forbesfuneralhome.com.
