Elder Freddie L.’s Obituary Freddie Lee Strowbridge Sr. was born on April 17, 1945 to the late Thomas C. Strowbridge and Rosetta H. Mitchell Strowbridge. He is also preceded in death by his son, Arthur McRae. On February 21, 2019, Freddie peacefully joined the Lord.
The brilliant Freddie was educated in the Jefferson County Public School System. For about 50 years, he fulfilled his passion by working as a dry wall finisher. Elder Strowbridge received Christ as his savior in 1977 and walked with him every since.
To honor this, he worked at YPWW, as a Sunday school superintendent, as a prison minister and as a street minister. Further, he pastored a church in Wadley, GA called Peaceful Zion Baptist Church. Some of Elder Strowbridge’s greatest pastimes included cooking, lawn care, fellowship with loved ones, and watching sports.
His favorite football team was the Eagles, while his favorite basketball team was the Golden State Warriors. The beloved Elder Strowbridge leaves to celebrate his purposeful and adventurous life, his unforgettable memories, his wife, Sally Strowbridge; his daughters, Rosa (Anthony) Reese, Erica Strowbridge, Cynthia (Leonard) Winborn of Minn. , Margaret Strowbridge of GA, Patricia (Roman) Johnson of GA, Maxie Strowbridge of GA; his sons, Freddie (Jean) Strowbridge Jr., Samuel Strowbridge of PA, Fernard Strowbridge of GA, Timothy McRae Sr. of PA, Larry McRae Sr. of PA, and Michael McRae Sr. of PA.
; his sisters, Nora Hynson-Robins (Charles) of GA and Lillie Strowbridge of PA; his brothers, Thomas Strowbridge Sr. of PA, Willie (Jeanetta) Strowbridge of GA, and James (Giselle) Strowbridge of GA; his host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Elder Strowbridge is remembered for his sincere personality as well as for his desire to make others laugh. He was dearly loved and will forever be missed.
Funeral service will be held on Friday March 1, 2019 at 12 Noon at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St. Interment Private.
