Eldina “Dena” Marie Kessler, 86, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018. Dena was born March 26, 1932 in Basile, Louisiana to the late Charles and Aline (Mercantel) Doga. On January 5, 1953, Dena married Francis “Frank” Kessler, who survives.

She was a homemaker. Dena is survived by her husband, Frank; three daughters, Sharon (Darryl) Johnson, Cathy (Donald) Wright and Debbie (Greg) Cotter all of La Porte, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Rachel (Jay) Pignotti, Allison Johnson, Rob (Christi) Trusty, Calvin Trusty, Brittney (John) Satoski, Brodie Cotter, and Shelby Cotter; and six great-grandchildren, Vinny, Leah, Sophia, Payson, Owen, and Nora. She was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., Monday, September 10, 2018, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the funeral home, where family and friends may visit from 10:30-11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Burial will be in Door Village Cemetery.

Pastor Bob Vale will officiate. Memorial contribution may be made to American Cancer Society, 5635 W. 96th Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana 46278. Please share prayers, condolences and memories with the family at Essling Funeral Home.com.
