Obituary for Eldora E. Edwards Eldora E. Edwards, age 99 of Waupaca passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Bethany Home in Waupaca. Eldora was born on November 23, 1918 in the Town of Little Wolf, Waupaca Co., WI; daughter of Albert and Mathilda (Krause) Hoppe. She married Aubrey J. Edwards on November 7, 1936 in Waupaca and they shared 69 years of marriage before his passing on April 26, 2006.
Eldora and Aubrey farmed on the banks of Walla Walla Creek in the Town of Lind and also in the Town of Waupaca for many years. They enjoyed polka dancing around the state and Eldora was an avid card player in her later years. She was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waupaca.
Eldora will be deeply missed by all of her loving family and friends. Eldora is survived by her sons: Gene (Gretchen) Edwards of Lodi, WI and David (Karen) Edwards of Menasha, WI; her grandchildren: Julia (John Gordon) Edwards of Lodi, WI, G. Scott Edwards of Appleton, WI, Jill (Lionel) Susini of Lexington, KY, Jeff (Debbie) Edwards of Mount Pleasant, WI, Todd Edwards of St. Croix Falls, WI, Kelly (Diana) Moore of Sun Prairie, WI and Sheri (Joel) Wiersma of Beaver Dam, WI and 14 great-grandchildren. Eldora is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mathilda Hoppe; her husband, Aubrey Edwards; an infant sister, Helen Hoppe; and four brothers, Leo, Louis, Harley, and Edwin Hoppe. The Funeral Service will be on Friday, May 4 at 11 AM at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waupaca, WI with Reverend Ronald Siemers, officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday morning from 10 AM to 11 AM at the church.
Burial will be at Little Creek Cemetery in the Town of Little Wolf. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in the name of Eldora E. Edwards. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
