Obituary of Elijah James Cox Elijah James Eric Cox, 15, passed away Monday, June 11, 2018 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born on December 6, 2002, in Georgetown, he was a son of April Brooke Cox and Eric Von Grimmage. Elijah was a member of Graves Southern Baptist Church and was a rising sophomore at Andrews High School where he was a member of the junior varsity baseball team and football team.

He was also a member of the Andrews American Legion Baseball team. Elijah aspired to play college football for CLEMSON and could easily be considered their #1 fan. Along with football and baseball, Elijah had a great love for surfing.

He was a member of the Surf Dreams Foundation Surf Team, Village Surf Shop Surf Team and the Endless Summer Surf Team. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Above all else, Elijah was a loving brother and friend and had a smile that would light up a room.

Survivors include his mother and father of Georgetown; one sister, Amya Grace Lance of Georgetown; one brother, Cameron Paul Cox of Georgetown; maternal grandmother, Ginger McCants Haithcock of Georgetown; maternal great grandparents, Butch “Grandpa” Bauer and Ernestine “Mammy” Bauer of Andrews; a very special aunt, Tammy McCants Weaver of Andrews; aunt, Amber Pomranky (Anthony) of Summerville and their children, Ashlyn Pomranky and Ashton Pomranky; uncle, Homer Haithcock, II (Rebekkah) of Summerville and their children, Christian Haithcock and Bella Haithcock; two great-great aunts, Brenda McCants Gordon (S.M.) of Georgetown and Dale Cox Presutti of Summerville; one great uncle, John Cox (Ann) of Pawleys Island; cousins, Tommy and Kim Gordon of Pawleys Island and their children, Katie Gordon and Luke Gordon; Jeremy McCants (Marie) of Andrews and many other family members and special friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Homer Haithcock; special uncle, David Weaver; great-great grandfather, Thomas Lavern McCants; and great-great grandparents, Katie and Paul McCants. Funeral services will be held at 4 PM Thursday, June 14, 2018 in the Andrews High School Auditorium with Rev.

Chris Giles officiating. Entombment will be private. The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM Thursday in the Auditorium.
